Harley-Davidson to showcase its new products early next year

Back in 2018, Harley-Davidson announced its big plans to target the fast-growing Asia-Pacific market with a range of new premium products (300-500cc bikes, an ADV, and bigger displacement street naked). Now, things seem to be looking up for Harley-Davidson after a tough 2020. Come January 19, 2021, Harley-Davidson will preview its new models including the Pan America ADV (the company’s first-ever ADV) along with its riding apparel and accessories for the bikes via a global virtual event.

Off to a flying start

In February 2021, the full tech-spec of the Pan America 1250 will be available, says the company. For fans waiting for the Bronx unveil, we hate to break it – but it is not clear whether the bike will even see the light of the day as of now due to reasons unknown.

United We Will Ride

Hollywood actor Jason Momoa collaborated with Harley-Davidson and directed a series of videos about H-D riders navigating the days of the pandemic. “Harley-Davidson has unlocked opportunities for me to find adventure with amazing people, awe-inspiring places, and expand my inspiration seen in the United We Will Ride content series. I was excited to collaborate with Harley-Davidson for a first look and a chance to ride the Pan America 1250 motorcycle. It is a perfect vehicle that combines my love of the outdoors, the unknown, and Harley-Davidson. People are going to be completely stoked about this bike that Harley Davidson has created.”

Adventure ahead

We sure hope that Pan America 1250 creates the kind of waves that H-D wants to ride on. This year marks ten-years since Harley-Davidson set up its operations in India by opening its first dealership back in July 2010. However, the festivities were absent as Harley-Davidson was having a tough time in the country.

In September this year, H-D even announced shutting shop in India as a part of its restructuring activities. And then out of the blue, Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp entered a JV where Hero MotoCorp, through its existing dealership and service network, will sell and provide service to Harley-Davidson motorcycles in the country. What a relief for the customers and dealers this announcement would have brought! This JV is a part of Harley-Davidson’s Rewire strategy. Harley can take advantage of Hero’s vast dealership and expand their presence. After all, Hero MotoCorp is the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturing company and this will be a win-win combination for both Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson.
